Take Interstate 5 north from Seattle or south from Bellingham to exit 231, near Burlington. At the roundabout on the west end of the freeway bridge, take Josh Wilson Road west toward Anacortes about six miles. At the end of Josh Wilson, turn right onto Bayview-Edison Road. The Padilla Bay Research Reserve site is on the right, 1/4 mile past Bayview State Park. Breazeale House is the small farmhouse at the north end of the reserve campus.

Ginny Broadhurst is the director for the Northwest Straits Commission. Prior to this appointment in 2008, she was the Commission’s Marine Program Manager for four years, overseeing regional restoration work and providing technical support to the Commission and MRCs. Ginny received her master's degree in Marine Affairs from the University of Washington and worked for the Puget Sound Action Team from 1991 to 2003 on wetlands protection policies, shoreline management, marine protected areas and land use management issues. She currently represents the Northwest Straits Commission on the Puget Sound Partnership’s Ecosystem Coordination Board, PSNERP’s Executive Committee and the Rockfish Advisory Committee. Ginny also serves as Director of the Northwest Straits Foundation.

Caroline joined the Commission staff in 2009, following more than a decade of marine fisheries research and related advocacy in the regional non-profit sector. Hailing from Newfoundland, she studied marine biology at Memorial University before moving to New England for adventures at sea and on shore throughout the North and Mid-Atlantic.  She now serves on advisory committees to the Puget Sound Nearshore Ecosystem Restoration Project and Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary; and on the board of Habitat Media. Caroline is a former member of the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee, and staffs the Port Townsend office, located in the Northwest Maritime Center.

Sasha Horst has served as staff for the Commission since 2001. A third-generation Washingtonian, she was born and raised in Seattle and moved to Bellingham to attend Western Washington University, where she earned degrees in education and music. Her Project Specialist title has encompassed a broad range of duties, most recently including grant management, web site maintenance and tracking the Commission's federal budget as well as providing some of the institutional memory for this growing organization.
