June 24, 2009 - Murray Provides $1.6 Million for Northwest Straits Marine Conservation Initiative. U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) announced that she included $1.6 million in funding for the Northwest Straits Marine Conservation Initiative in a fiscal year 2010 Senate spending bill.

The Skagit Marine Resources Committee will host a demonstration of their project remove oil, grease, bacteria and trash from selected storm drains using the Smart Sponge filtering system. Click here for more information.
