“Straits” or “Straights”

Our name sometimes gets mixed up and people get “straits” confused with “straights”.  It’s an honest mistake. Some of the definitions of “straight” apply to us: we exhibit honesty and fairness, and we consider ourselves a trustworthy source of information.

We use Northwest Straits to mean the body of water that is between Georgia Basin to the north and southern Puget Sound. We’ll continue to be honest and trustworthy, but we’ll stick with being named Northwest Straits, not straights.
