Jessica Owens is the Communications Coordinator for the Northwest Straits Commission. Originally from Pennsylvania, she earned her degrees in English and Graphic Design from the University of Missouri–Columbia. Her background includes K–12 public relations and communications work with environmental nonprofits, as well as two years of service as a Peace Corps volunteer in Yap, Federated States of Micronesia. When she’s not crafting stories for the Commission, you’ll likely find her painting watercolors or chasing adventure—whether paddling local waters or hiking the wild trails of the Pacific Northwest.
